Perhaps blogging about music (and media in general) was not meant to be as interactive as mog.com now allows. When a friend mentioned starting his own music blog, the idea struck me as something I might like to do, but my first attempt was thwarted by the sheer magnitude of everything MOGs have to offer.
After allowing "The MOG-o-matic" to analyze my entire library, it became available to other MOG users, told me who was listening to similar music at the time, and gave me a variety of other opportunities to express my musical tastes. Maybe there's nothing better than listening to endless clips from the libraries of millions of other blogging critics for some of you, but a visit to The Diamond C reminded me that I wanted my written thoughts first and music second.
While this blog may be lacking in the flash and interactivity MOGs so clearly pride themselves on, it manages to keep the written word central. So I found myself joining the masses.
Overload or not, MOGs may be for you, just not for me.
